THE SECOND COMING (EVENTS AND EXPECTATIONS)

Introduction

Recap of past modules

• Doctrine of the Word – God’s Word – infallible 
• The Doctrine of God – The Holy Trinity. One Being three Persons
• The Doctrine of Christ – Substitutionary atonement – Jesus as the Lamb of God slain on the cross for us
• Doctrine of Salvation and Redemption – Salvation is relational in character. We are saved to be in relationship with God
• Doctrine of Man – What exactly happened in the garden of Eden
• Doctrine of the Church

As a disciple of Christ, we need to focus upon spiritual maturity. One basic area of Christian

growth is this particular area of growing in our knowledge of the true meaning of the kingdom

of God, our awareness of the relationship between the present age and the age to come and our expectation of the Second Coming of Christ.

This knowledge refers to both our intellectual understanding of the implications of the Second Coming and our personal experience of the longing for His appearing. Christian maturity can only be attained through this two-fold growth. Faith needs to transform both the head and the heart.
