Pray for Israel

Rev Jeremiah Abel

I wanted to commend your tambourine dancers. Last Sunday I was in an Anglican Church and they wanted me to conduct a seminar. I said okay but maybe a year later. This was an Anglican Church but they are spirit filled and they worshipped the Lord. And they had flags throughout the service worshipping and praising. And they had dancers, all these in an Anglican Church. Praise the Lord.

I am thankful I can be here and was wondering what to share. I just preached at the Hokkien service and I preached on communion and the blood of Jesus. One person that came was saved. I am not the type that peaches the same message for both service. And this man that was saved, the next thing he said was he wants his wife to be saved. He heard the message, received it with joy and he wanted his family to be saved.

I was asking the Lord and it seems the nation of Israel seems to come up. The book that talked about the nation of Israel is Psalms 122. Specifically verse 6.

Psalms 122
A song of ascents. Of David.
1 I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
2 Our feet are standing
in your gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built like a city
that is closely compacted together.
4 That is where the tribes go up,
the tribes of the Lord,
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.
5 There the thrones for judgment stand,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels.”
8 For the sake of my brothers and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your prosperity.

First and foremost the Lord desire that we always pray not only for Jerusalem but also for the nation of Israel. If you have not, you need to understand this as a child of God.

There is a replacement theology where they say the church have replaced the nation of Israel. This is wrong.

There is the nation of Israel, the gentiles and the church, also called the bride of Christ. These are the three groups of people.

But as a church we have a role. The apostle Paul was the apostle for the Gentiles. But he also has a great burden for the nation of Israel. Read Romans chapter 9 and 11. If you look at Romans 9.

Romans 9:1-2
God’s Sovereign Choice
1 I speak the truth in Christ–I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit– 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.

Paul was feeling in anguish for the nation of Israel. We owe much to the nation of Israel. They were the ones that brought about the patriarch. The law was given to them.

Romans 10:1
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

We owe the nation of Israel so we need to be praying for Israel. That they may be saved.

Romans 11:1-2
The Remnant of Israel
1 I ask then:Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah–how he appealed to God against Israel:

God is directing our attention to the nation of Israel. There are a number of people from the United Nations to the U.S. that says Jerusalem will become the capital of the Palestinians. But Israel is saying that Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel for 3,000 years. That's what the pope tried to do subtly. But the president of Israel would not have it.

Romans 11:17-27
If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18 do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this:You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God:sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
All Israel Will Be Saved
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

We are wild olives. Say wild olive. We are now sharing. Say it again, sharing in the nourishing sap. How we need to be thankful to God. You do not support the root but the root supports you. We are just wild olive grafted and it's the root that supports us. We are called not to be proud. The apostle Paul preached like that. Some people don't like it.

And God has power to graft them in again. Hear that? Until the full number has come in, that is the church, the bride of Christ. Take hold of this passage of scripture. We are living in a time where the coming of the Lord is coming and at the end of the church. The signs are there.

How many of you have heard of the four blood moons. There are so many articles on YouTube. Go to John Hagee's teaching. He was the one who wrote on this.

The four blood moons came to him because he was attending a conference and he was so concern about the nation of Israel. It was at the conference that one pastor talked to him about the stars. He had to take time to search in the computer and what struck him was this. It was NASA who studied the stars and found out about these blood moons. They found four blood moons happening between 2014 to 2015.

There has been many blood moons but never four blood moons.

The one that just passed was April 15. Some of my disciples in Canada wanted to see the blood moon and they saw it. And it was red and big. The next is Oct 8, 2014 and April 4, 2015 and September 28, 2015. All these fall during the Jewish festivals.

Study the book of Leviticus 23rd chapter. You will read about the feast of the Passover. We celebrate the holy communion because it is significant because it's our salvation. There were 7 feasts. The first is the feast of the Passover and the last feast was the Tabernacle. It is to remind them that it was God that rescued them and provided for them. Then we as believers need to know we are just passing through. We are aliens. We do not belong to this world. Our home is heaven.

Jesus said he has gone to prepare a place for you. Prepare a bungalow? Mansion! These festivals were to remind them that God saved them and that they were temporary residence and God is going to take them.

One of the things I want you to understand is this. 500 years ago there were also four blood moons. When it happens it is bad omen for Israel. Yet God will protect them. The nation of Israel is the apple of his eye.

The enemy has tried to destroy the nation of Israel. In 1492-93, the inquisition happened and brought about such persecution to the Israelites. That was the time Christopher Columbus has many Jewish sailors and many moved to America. Today America has the most number of the Jews and they are very rich.

The next one was just before 1948, the holocaust. Many Jews were slaughtered but in 1948, God formed the nation of Israel. 6 to 7 Arab nations attacked them yet they were the ones that occupied the west banks.

The next one was 1967, the six day war. All the Arab countries come together to annihilate the nation of Israel. They are still talking about it and in the six day war, Israel won the war but it seems it was God who protected and helped them win the war. And in that war they got back Jerusalem.

These four blood moons is something I am excited about. I was amazed at the truths that was in this particular book. The Lord wants us to understand and I have a few verses I want to share. God has given us signs on his soon return.

Genesis 1:14
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,

When he brought about creation, God has already said they are signs.

Joel 2:30-31
I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

The moon will turn into blood. These are signs before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. This was in Acts chapter 2.

Acts 2:19-20
I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

Jesus is coming back again. How important it is for us. I am more excited about what Jesus says.

Luke 21:25-28
“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26 Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

This is what I wanted you to understand. God has given us signs already. He is coming back very very soon. The coming of the Lord is imminent and we have to be in a state of preparedness.

Right now, it was this particular year that we have experienced one of the worst climatic condition is the world. In many countries there were floods and earthquakes. It snowed in Jerusalem. Many is wondering what's going on. Yet the scriptures are so clear. We need not be afraid or be troubled about it because we know he is coming again.

And my desire is that you will be in a state of preparedness. I want you to be caught up, to be raptured. In Thessalonians, the 5 chapters, you'll find there are references made on the coming of Jesus. And there are people who said I don't know. Paul said do not be ignorant. We are supposed to be knowledgeable.

1 Corinthians 15:51
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed –

We will be changed in the twinkling of an eye. When the trumpet sound, we will be caught up. In the twinkling of an eye. The coming of the Lord is imminent. I didn't say that he is coming during the four blood moon. I didn't say that ya.

As I close, just before this came up, I read a book on the late rabbi Kaduri, who was a man who has such reverence for God. He died at the age or 106 and he said Jesus is the messiah and he write in a piece of paper he told the people to open the paper one year after his death. When they opened that letter, he said when a prime minister Ariel Sharon dies, prepare yourself for the messiah to come. Ariel Sharon passed away at the beginning this year. And thousands of Jews are coming to the Lord. There are many churches mushrooming in Israel, known as messianic churches. Many are telling me many are accepting the Lord.

If that is true, we better wake up. It is time. I pray that none of you will be left behind but will be prepared for the coming of the Lord.

Rev Jeremiah Abel preached at both the Hokkien and English service.
